More Than a Set of Keys
The difference between a stressful EV trip and a smooth one often comes down to preparation. We build that preparation into every rental — not as an extra, but as part of how we work.
Back to HomeWhat You Get With Karvelin
Charging Maps, Not Guesswork
Every rental includes a current charging point map specific to your route — covering AC and DC locations, typical waiting times, and nearby facilities.
Telephone Support During Your Trip
Our team is reachable by phone throughout your rental period. Questions about charging, route adjustments, or vehicle functions get real answers quickly.
Transparent Handover Process
We complete a readiness checklist with you at departure and return. No disputes about pre-existing marks or missing equipment — everything is reviewed together.
Full Charge at Departure
You collect the vehicle at or near full charge, so you start the rental with maximum range rather than needing to find a charger before you've left Tawau.
Flat-Rate Pricing
Our three rental plans — RM 600, RM 2,200, and RM 4,500 — are fixed rates. What's quoted is what you pay for the arrangement, with no surprise additions at return.
Planned Itinerary Support
Multi-day renters receive a charge-aware route plan prepared for their intended journey — useful for cross-state drives where charger availability varies.
Local Knowledge, Built Into Every Plan
Operating in Tawau since 2022, we've accumulated first-hand knowledge of where chargers work consistently, where wait times run long, and which routes suit which vehicle ranges. That knowledge shapes the charging maps and route plans we include with every rental.
- Sabah East Coast charger network familiarity
- Updated monthly to reflect new and inactive stations
- Practical notes based on actual driving experience
"We mapped the first version of our charging guide by driving the routes ourselves. That hands-on approach still informs how we update it."
— Hafiz Sulaiman, Karvelin Founder
- Current-generation EV models with WLTP-rated range
- Digital route plan shared before departure
- Charging cable compatibility notes per vehicle
- Vehicle features briefing during handover
Vehicles Matched to East Malaysia's Roads
We select vehicles with ranges and charging compatibility suited to the routes our customers actually take — not just the highest-spec models available. Each one is briefed at handover so customers understand regenerative braking, charge indicators, and comfort features before driving.
A Team You Can Reach, Not a Queue
When something unexpected comes up mid-trip — a charger out of service, an unfamiliar error message — you call our direct number, not an automated system. Our team handles enquiries personally during operating hours and works to resolve questions on the first contact.
- Direct telephone line shared at handover
- Mid-period check-in included in three-day plan
- End-of-trip review session in weeklong arrangement
Our operating hours run Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 6 PM, and Saturday mornings. Outside those times, you'll find a recorded message with guidance on what to do in urgent situations. We aim to respond to any message left outside hours by the next working morning.
All rates include vehicle, charging documentation, and plan-specific support. Charging costs during trip paid separately at stations.
What's Quoted Is What You Pay
Our pricing covers the vehicle rental and everything that comes with it — charging documentation, route support, and telephone assistance where included in the plan. There are no add-on fees for the support services. The only variable cost is what you spend at charging stations during the trip itself.

Distinctive Features of Our Service
Sabah-Specific Charging Intelligence
Our charging maps aren't downloaded from a generic app — they're assembled from direct observation and updated monthly. We note which stations have historically reliable uptime and flag ones that require advance planning.
Vehicle Briefing as Standard
Rather than handing over the car with a manual, we walk through the key systems with each customer — particularly useful for those new to EV driving or unfamiliar with the specific model being rented.
Stop-by-Stop Route Summary
For multi-day arrangements, we prepare a written route summary — not just a list of charger locations, but a practical guide to where to stop, how long to charge, and what's worth a break nearby.
End-of-Trip Feedback Session
Customers on the weeklong plan have a brief review conversation at return — useful for noting anything that can improve the next rental, and for us to update our routes based on what was actually experienced on the road.
